Code of Ethics
Guiding Principles
Fill Your Holes: Always fill in excavations and leave an incline ramp for tortoises and other wildlife, even if leaving your dig overnight. It’s the law!
Respect Other Claims: Avoid claim jumping and be aware of neighboring claims that do not belong to the club.
Clean Up After Yourself:
Remove all trash, including glass and cans from fire rings.
Pack out what you pack in.
Absolutely NO dumping of black tanks on site ANYWHERE, including our outhouse.
Follow BLM and Fire Safety Rules:
No burning wood with nails or using pallets as firewood.
Obtain a fire permit before starting a campfire.
Protect the Land: Leave flora and fauna undisturbed, and do not destroy public or private property.
Be a Good Steward of Club Claims:
Carry your membership card and claim map while prospecting.
Guests must prospect in close proximity to the member who brought them.
Your Safety is Our Priority
Be aware of hazards like mine shafts, wildlife, and rough terrain.
Always let others know your location and carry emergency supplies.
Members are responsible for the safety of their guests and pets.
